History

We purchased the farm on the 5^th Jan 2000 .  The completion was made after over a year of search and research. However the dream of owning a vineyard was hatched many years before while we worked together in Europe .  It was only after an inspiring holiday during 1998 spent in and around Cape Town that the two families realized that the dream could be feasible.  The opportunity was there and we grabbed it.

The purchase of the farm was just the start of a long period of investment and discovery.  It was also a period of great fun.  We decided early on to chronicle the story of our project month by month.  To cause the least embarrassment to the many people we met and who helped us at various stages we changed all the names, including our own.  The web diary was just meant to be a bit of fun but in the end over the 5 year period from purchase to the release of our first wine it does provide, we hope, an interesting chronicle of the ups and downs of building a vineyard from scratch.
